Mr. Rust Where passion meets expertise in the heart of Hollywood, California. Founded by Mr. Rust, a lifelong music collector, esteemed musician, seasoned UX Designer in ecommerce, and former DJ at the legendary Rainbow Bar and Grill in West Hollywood, Disciplinary Records is more than just another online music store – it’s a curated haven for enthusiasts and collectors alike.

With a background deeply rooted in music, Mr. Rust is renowned as the founding Bassist and Vocalist for the band Rusty Eye, often regarded as a cult band within certain circles of the metal and underground music scenes, as well as for his collaboration with acclaimed artist Sergio Arau and The Heavy Mex. His extensive personal music collection of over 3,000 titles across various formats serves as a testament to his dedication and love for the art.

Drawing from his multifaceted experience and education, including a Music Business certificate from the prestigious Musicians Institute in LA, Mr. Rust established Epoché Records as a platform to market and distribute Rusty Eye’s groundbreaking releases. Leveraging his expertise as a UX Designer for large retailers in California, Mr. Rust ensures a seamless and immersive shopping experience on Disciplinary Records.

Now, with Disciplinary Records, he channels his passion into curating a diverse selection of new releases and rare collectibles for discerning music aficionados.

About Mr. Rust

Mr. Rust isn’t just a mascot—he’s the face, voice, and unholy spirit behind Disciplinary Records.

Originally crafted for a webcast called Hesher Talk, the puppet was first commissioned overseas but arrived... less than accurate. Eventually, the character was reimagined and modeled by artist Alfonso Likan into the glorious claymation beast you now see preaching the gospel of underground vinyl on our Instagram.

But Mr. Rust is more than foam and wire. He’s the very same Mr. Rust who fronted cult metal band Rusty Eye—a persona forged from years of music obsession, live gigs, and raw sonic power.

Drawing from the golden era of ’90s record stores, where recommendations came from real people and real passion, Mr. Rust now brings that analog soul into the digital world. With every post, every reel, and every recommendation, he’s out to restore that lost connection between listener and record store clerk—minus the awkward small talk.
