Amon Amarth return with The Allfather Awakens, their 2026 full-length for Metal Blade Records. The Swedish melodic death metal pioneers continue their trademark blend of crushing riffs and Norse mythology storytelling, cementing their position as one of the genre's most consistent and ambitious voices. This album marks another chapter in their evolution as architects of Viking metal's most cinematic and sonically sophisticated incarnation.

The record unfolds across standout tracks like "Gjallarhorn," "Eight Legs of Thunder," and "Kvasir's Blood," each reinforcing the band's mastery of dynamic composition—moving from blast-beat fury to anthemic melodic passages with seamless precision. "We Rule the Waves" and "Die with a War Cry" exemplify their gift for crafting battle-ready hooks that lodge themselves within the listener's mind, while album opener "Upphaf" sets a Norse-mythological tone that carries through the full runtime. The production is characteristically dense yet legible, allowing every orchestral swell and double-bass pattern to land with intended weight.

This vinyl edition arrives as a gatefold package with a two-sided insert and digital download card included, offering the full album experience across wax—the format of choice for metal collectors who demand both sonic depth and physical presence.
