Originally released in nineteen ninety-two, Anathema's The Crestfallen EP stands as one of the earliest and most influential recordings from the UK doom metal movement. Emerging from the same underground scene that produced bands like Paradise Lost and My Dying Bride, the EP captures Anathema in their raw, crushing early era.

Blending slow, sorrowful riffs with cavernous atmosphere and bleak lyrical themes, tracks such as “...And I Lust,” “The Sweet Suffering,” and the title track “Crestfallen” helped establish the band’s reputation within the death-doom underground. The EP remains a key early chapter in Anathema’s evolution and a cornerstone of early nineties doom metal.
