Originally released in nineteen ninety-four, Aphex Twin's Selected Ambient Works Volume II is widely regarded as one of the most influential ambient albums ever recorded. Created by Richard D. James in his early twenties, the record moves away from traditional rhythms and instead explores deeply atmospheric soundscapes built from haunting textures, drifting tones, and abstract sonic environments.

Unlike the melodic structures of Selected Ambient Works 85–92, this album focuses on mood and immersion, with most tracks identified only by numbers and images in the original artwork. Pieces such as “Blue Calx,” “Rhubarb,” and the sprawling ambient movements throughout the record create an eerie and meditative listening experience that helped redefine the possibilities of electronic music.

This expanded four-LP anniversary edition presents the album newly remastered and pressed on BioVinyl, an environmentally conscious vinyl formulation. The release also includes additional material, liner notes, a fold-out insert, and a sticker sheet, celebrating three decades of one of electronic music’s most iconic and mysterious works.
