Melvins – Hostile Ambient Takeover returns in this striking 2021 limited edition baby pink vinyl reissue via Ipecac Recordings. Originally recorded and mixed in 2001 at Hook Studios and first released in 2002, the album captures the band at one of their most sonically adventurous and abrasive peaks.

Blending doom-laden riffs, experimental textures, and punishing rhythmic shifts, Hostile Ambient Takeover features the powerhouse lineup of King Buzzo, Dale Crover, and Kevin Rutmanis, with additional contributions from Adam Jones. The album’s chaotic energy is balanced by meticulous production from Toshi Kasai and mastering by John Golden, delivering a massive, dynamic soundstage that truly shines on vinyl.

This 2021 reissue is pressed on baby pink vinyl (limited to 3,000 copies) and housed in a deluxe gatefold sleeve. It includes a 12-page full-color booklet with liner notes by King Buzzo and a download card. Tracks are listed sequentially from 1–8 on the release, with the second track remaining officially untitled.
