The Cult – Sonic Temple (Beggars Banquet / Beggars Arkive BBQ2151LP) is the 2019 30th Anniversary remastered 2LP edition of the band’s landmark 1989 album that propelled them into arena rock territory.

Produced by Bob Rock and recorded at Little Mountain Sound Studios in Vancouver, Sonic Temple marked a powerful shift toward a bigger, hard rock-driven sound. Featuring Ian Astbury’s commanding vocals and Billy Duffy’s massive guitar tone, the album became The Cult’s most commercially successful release.

Standout tracks include the anthemic “Fire Woman,” the cinematic “Edie (Ciao Baby),” “Sweet Soul Sister,” and the swaggering opener “Sun King.” This expanded 30th Anniversary edition adds bonus material including “Messin’ Up The Blues,” the “Fire Woman (NYC Rock Mix),” and an acoustic version of “Edie.”

This double LP reissue is housed in a gatefold sleeve with navy labels and was pressed at Optimal Media in Germany.
