The Fall’s 458489: A Sides compiles every A-side released by the band on Beggars Banquet between nineteen eighty-four and nineteen eighty-nine, capturing one of the most celebrated periods in the group’s long and chaotic history.

Often referred to as the band’s “Brix years,” this era featured guitarist Brix Smith, whose melodic sensibilities helped shape a series of sharper, more accessible singles while Mark E. Smith continued delivering his unmistakable spoken-snarl vocal style. The result was a run of inventive and influential post-punk releases that balanced jagged experimentation with warped pop hooks.

The compilation includes standout tracks like “Cruisers Creek,” “Hit The North,” “Hey! Luciani,” and the band’s distinctive covers of “Mr. Pharmacist,” “Victoria,” and William Blake’s “Jerusalem.” Pressed on white vinyl, this edition marks the first ever US pressing of the collection.
